Sunday Morning Tea & Seed Swap

Next month is the annual Global Action for Seed Freedom fortnight ( October 2nd to the 16th ) so Julian and Geri took the opportunity to incorporate a bit of seed saving into this months morning tea. It was a fantastic turn-out with some new faces and an incredible diversity of produce on the morning tea table and the seed swap table.

It was really heartening to see that folks are saving seeds as part of their gardening practice and a few great ideas were shared on organising seeds, from boxes to filing systems.

It was also an opportunity for Julian and Geri to share the new garden as it is starting to take shape with some major changes from the previous layout. A couple of questions in particular were an indication that perhaps there should be a current updated post on the changes so far and the reasons behind them. We'll let you know when it is posted.

There will be seed saving information available as part of the Permaculture ALBANY stall at the Food For Thought Festival as seed saving, permablitzes and backyard edibles are the focus of Julian's presentation during the Festival on Sunday, October the 4th. 10 - 4pm at the Albany Town Square. A free event too!

Thanks to those that were able to make it and share their seeds, food, garden produce, seedlings, knowledge, book and website recommendations and seed saving experiences.
