This years theme for International Permaculture Day is SOILS. With permaculture we can create soil where we want it - by design. In this short video Geoff Lawton showcases what can be done in one of the most extreme landscapes on earth.
On a local level we are using this day to mark the creation of our very own Permaculture ALBANY group. With this in mind we already have several possible projects on the horizon for the group to work on so by the time International Permaculture Day 2016 comes around we'll no doubt have achieved quite a bit already.
David Holmgren's Permaculture Principles site outlines one of the principles that can contribute to soil creation.
By valuing and making use of all the resources that are available to us, nothing goes to waste.
We will post more on the principles in the future so that you can gain an understanding of how they fit in with the permaculture ethics - and the impact they have on permaculture ways of thinking.
